London Bingo Lingo

Bingo Lingo has been around for over 100 years and varies depending on location. Surprisingly, it is not used so widely these days and is disappearing fast.

There are many variations for the numbers, some are rhyming slang and some are a little more logical. Take 8 for example, it can be called "Garden Gate" or "one fat lady" because of it's shape. There are even biblical bingo calls such as 'The Lord is my Shepherd" - 23. The majority of names tend to rhyme, like 'Dirty Gurtie" 30 or "Man Alive" 5. I find the nick names very entertaining and urge all of the Bingo callers out there to keep the tradition going! It makes it more fun and some numbers will allways get a laugh or two!

    1. I have been playing bingo on the Foxy site lately. I was enticed by the £10 free play as most people would be. I promised myself that I wouldn't deposit any money, but when I won twice, the only way to withdraw my £40 winnings was to deposit, so I did. Since then I haven't looked back. I have won four more times and I am loving it!

The chat rooms are good fun. Everyone is really helpful. I tried the Coral bingo (Gala) last week and because it's so much bigger, it just didn't have the same nice feel that Foxy did, but I think that it's because there are so many more players than Foxy. There were helpful people there also. I had to ask quite a few annoying questions as I didn't find the layout particularly user friendly.

I don't have much intention of using any other bingo rooms right now.

I am trying to keep myself on a weekly budget so that I don't spend too much. I am fairly new to the online bingo rooms and I can already see how addictive it can become. I have managed to resist temptation so far, but for how long? The good thing about bingo is, that you don't go through the money you deposit as quickly as you might on an online casino. The bets on Foxy start at 5p and on Coral (Gala) there are 'buy one get one free' rounds. So it's all pretty affordable. Foxy also award funded players with loyalty points which can then be turned into money if you run out. Something I had to resort to yesterday.
